Self-Fulfillment

Today’s topic is about living your life intentionally and seeking out self-fulfillment. This life is full of decisions and paths, and wondering aimlessly though it, will lead to, well you don’t know.

If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there” – Lewis Carroll

Not enough can be said about being self-fulfilled. You only get one life, and to waste it doing things you don’t like is irresponsible. Sure, we all have to pay bills, run errands, and the other tasks that come along in life. But we’re talking about the big things in this life, like where you live and work, what you do in your spare time, what you strive for.

There’s more to life than happy hours, fantasy football, 5% raises, and anything else that distracts you from what really makes your happy and gives you fulfillment.

The path to fulfillment is just like anything else. It’s not direct. It’s full of twists and turns. Everyone experiences this path to fulfillment differently. For me, it’s through real estate investing that I chase my sense of fulfillment.

Here are just a few ways real estate investing fulfills me:

  • It creates passive income that allows me to pursue what makes me happy
  • It gives me the ability to scale to my true potential, with no ceiling
  • It gives me a challenge and something to strive towards
  • I can help others by teaching them about real estate investing

This fulfillment doesn’t come from the act of purchasing, closing, rehabbing, or selling a property. Rather, fulfillment for me comes from the lifestyle and passive income real estate creates. By having this freedom from real estate investing, I am able to focus on the things that fulfill me. Real estate investing is just the vehicle to get me there.

Too many people sludge through this life just being reactionary to their environment and surroundings. They live with no intention or purpose. They are a pinball being knocked around every which way. This isn’t you though. You choose to live an intentional life that you have designed.

If you find yourself being that pinball, ask yourself “Is this what I want to be doing?” This can be a difficult question to answer.

If the answer is no, or you don’t know, reevaluate what it is you want, and layout a roadmap that will get you there. Draw that map to your destination, and start to follow it. You may make a wrong turn, or have to reroute. That’s ok.

Many people don’t want to face chasing their dreams, because they are comfortable in their current position, and are afraid of pushing themselves and potentially failing. Some people simply don’t know exactly how to get where they want to be, and consequently never try to make it there.

No matter where you’re at in this life, you deserve to live a life of fulfillment. You’re capable of creating your own reality. You can write your own story.

Live with intention. Pursue your dreams, tirelessly. This alone will ensure you live a life of fulfillment.
